Hey girl, glad you're having fun. Your story about the beggars really touched home. My dad recently explained that during Ramadan muslims fast, at least in part, to truly understand the concept of "hunger." Deep.

My travel partners are great!
I think fasting can be an important spiritual experience. I did not realize that is why they fasted for Ramadan
I was in India in October of 2008. Yes, I understand what you are saying about the bathroom. My husband told me to bring toilet paper but I did not listen to him because I did not understand why. When we got there and had to use the bathroom, then it became clear to me that I should have listened to him. :-) :-)
I guess sometimes husbands know best!
